Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the wife of Ondo State governor has extolled Chief Michael Ade-Ojo ,the Chairman of Toyota Nigeria Ltd and founder of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, on his achievement to humanity.
Mrs Akeredolu stated this at Elizabeth Ojo Memorial Golf tournament gala night on Saturday in Ilara-Mokin, Ifedore Local Government area.
The event was a tribute to the endearing memory of the late Elizabeth Ojo, the wife of Chairman of Toyota Nigeria Limited, Chief Michael Adeojo.
“It is always wonderful to be in this community, not just at Smoking Hill Golf ground.
” This community has given me so much. My life history will be incomplete without it because what it has assisted me to accomplished so far.
” You all know about ICT programme where we trained over 100 girls and they went home with tablet each,
“We also trained 400 girls on solar energy technology at Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin,” she said.
The First Lady applauded the good architectural structure exhibited by the university with modern facilities embedded therein.
According to her, she is happy that Chief Adeojo has put the community to the world map through his singular efforts,praying that God will grant him good health to do more.
” I love everything about this town and about Chief Adeojo and we look forward for more,” she stated.
Earlier, Chief Adeojo said that the tournament was born as a result of management’s desire to ensure that all the late Elizabeth Adeojo lived for remained as an evergreen legacy, saying that Toyota Nigeria Limited had been sponsoring it since 2004.
The late wife of Chief Adeojo was born in 1941 and died in 2003.
Adeojo thanked his family members for being to continue the struggle started together with his late wife.
He added that life was not worth living if one could not have what one could be remembered for.
“That is why we have our university as a legend, which is one of the best private universities in Nigeria,” he said.
He added that he believed that Nigerians needed relaxation place such as the golf ground where they could relax and rewind,saying that he meant to showcase Ondo State as a place people could relax after hectic activities of city life.
The founder of Elizade University urged Nigerians to look beyond the present economic challenges which he said would fade away soon but that they should plan for the next boom,
In his remarks, Mr Gboye Adegbenro, the Captain of the golf centre, thanked the state government for its support and Chief Adeojo for taking the community into international recognition, praying that God will grant him sound health to fulfil his other lofty promises.
An Award of Excellence was bestowed on Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu by Chief Adeojo for her outstanding strides in impacting humanity positively.
