Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has signed into Law, the Bill establishing the University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital.

The Governor signed the Bill into law at his office on Monday evening.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Dr. Jibayo Adeyeye, who addressed journalists after the event, said the Governor has just fully established a University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital in the state.

He hinted that the Law has established a multi – locational Teaching Hospital in the state. Dr. Jibayo disclosed that the Governor Akeredolu administration is in the process of rebuilding a world class Teaching Hospital complex in Akure and Ondo town.

Dr. Adeyeye said the state government has already imported some medical equipment which will be taken delivery of before the end of this week.

He said with the Medical Science Teaching hospital Law 2019, things will now be done seamlessly in the medical Hospital and also in the University of medical Sciences itself.

He said ” The governor has signed into Law, an act establishing the University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital

“With the Signing of the law, things will be done seamlessly in the institution. Accreditation can now be made in institution without stress because there is no law backing up the Teaching Hospital up till now. “
