Government Workers in Ondo State have again been assured that the administration of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu would continue to satisfy their interest in the area of regular payment of salary, promotion, training and retraining as well as provision of suitable working environment to enhance quality service delivery to the people of the state.
The state Head of Service, Mr Dare Aragbaiye gave the assurance while playing host to the newly elected leadership of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ondo State Chapter in his office in Akure, the state capital.
Mr Aragbaiye noted that despite the dwindling allocation from the federation account, the Akeredolu-led administration has evolved strategies that increased the Internally Generated Revenue which enables the government to improve the Workers welfare as well as achieved outstanding infrastructure development of the state.
While congratulating the new Executive Officers of the Union for their victory during the election, the number one Civil Servant in the state commended the government’s policy of non interference in the selection of Union leaders for them to gain the confidence of their members as well as enhance better working relationship between the Union and the Government.
He further assured them that the present administration is poised to removing all bureaucratic bottlenecks to the career progression of Workers in the state, while on the other hand cautioned them to desist from obtaining loans that would make their monthly take home pay inadequate for their families.
In his earlier remarks, President of the Union, Comrade Bola Taiwo commended the administration of Governor Akeredolu for giving priority to the welfare of Workers in the state, particularly with the payment of 6 out of the 7 months salary arrears owed by the immediate past administration, payment of salary as at when due, regular promotion and granting of conversion request to Officers that desire it among others.
Comrade Taiwo, who highlighted the demands of the Union for government attention, pledged the continual support of the Union to the state government to achieve its laudable developmental programmes for the people of the state.
