Akeredolu identifies with Muslim Community; reiterates commitment to good governance

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has again reassured the people of the state of plans of  his government to see to the early completion of several of the ongoing projects across the state.

This according to the governor is in fulfilment of his electoral promises  which underscores the cardinal programmes of his government designed to make life worth living for residents of the state.

Speaking while inaugurating the Ibrahim Tafsir’s Central Mosque, Okela  in Ikare Akoko, Governor Akeredolu maintained that his administration would turn the state’s situation around in a bid to make life more comfortable for residents of the state.

The governor used the opportunity to thank the people of Akoko for voting him massively during the 2016 Governorship election and rekindled their hopes for better life through the execution of  life changing projects and early completion of strategic roads construction in Ikare.

Arakunrin Akeredolu also implored religious bodies across the state to continue to be tolerant of one another adding that his government would be fair to all religions.

Earlier, the Ondo State Grand Mufti, Sheikh Sirajudeen Batuta commended Governor Akeredolu for embracing projects continuity and regular payment of salaries for public servants in the state.

The Islamic scholar who built the mosque in remembrance of late Alhaji Ibrahim Omobayo Tafsir who played a leading role in bringing Islam to Ikare-Akoko during his life time called on government to employ more Islamic teachers in public primary and secondary schools across the state.

In his goodwill message, the Olukare of Ikare, Oba Abdukardri Momoh noted that Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has started well as governor and therefore promised the support of his subjects to his administration.

The occasion witnessed the gathering of many Islamic Clerics from states in the South of Nigeria, including the Aare Muslumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Dawood Makanjuola Akinola and the Chairman League of Imams & Alfas Ondo State & Secretary General South West & Chief Imam of Owo Kingdom, Sheik Ahmed Aladesawe.
