Nigerian Acting President, Prof. Yemi Oshinbajo, SAN has once again spoken on the need for every Nigerians to continue to believe and support the oneness of Nigeria as a unified country and shun all forms of divisive and hate comments.
Professor Osinbajo who said Nigeria is unique in every way, stressed that the leadership being provided by the All Progressives Congress, APC, government is hinged on good governance.
“I assure you all that the present administration is not just poised at giving leadership in the country but to give quality leadership built on morals and integrity,”
Professor Osinbajo made this known at the Fidau for Mrs Omowunmi Akande, wife of former Osun State Governor and former interim National Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande, held at Ila-Orangun, in Osun State.
He described Mrs Omowunmi Akande as a great woman who lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation.
The Acting President described the deceased as a true gem, very supportive, caring wife to her husband and lauded her roles of loyalty and service to humanity.
“Madam Akande was a truly virtuous woman, a pillar of support to her husband and a humble, loving and compassionate woman who related well with family, friends and political associates of her husband.
“Mama was not only a devoted mother to her biological children, she was a mother figure to Baba’s many political sons and daughters. She was an advocate and adviser whose words of encouragement and counsel were quite invaluable.
Also, the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN,described the deceased as a disciplined, God-fearing and understanding woman who stood behind her husband to record landmark successes in both private and public services.
While saying that Mrs Omowunmi Akande woud forever be missed, Arakunrin Akeredolu urged the Akande family, the people of Osun State and Nigerians to take solace in the fact the deceased lived a good and fulfilled life.
In his message at the fidau , Leader of League of Imams and Alfas in Ila-Orangun Alhaji Jamiu Kewuyemi, advised Nigerians to embrace righteousness so as to prepare for a better life after death.
“Death is inevitable and we all shall taste it. We must all embrace the righteous path in the interest of our hereafter.”

Madam Omowumi Akande, aged 73 died on Tuesday, 11th July,2017 at the University College Hospital,UCH, Ibadan.
