In its continuing efforts at deepening its academic programmes, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with Auburn University, Alabama, USA.
The MoU, which essentially is to facilitate exchange of students and staff, and research collaboration, among other benefits between the two Universities, was signed on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Auburn University, Alabama, USA.
This development is coming barely four months after AAUA had signed a similar document with Alabama State University, USA, to further expand its global partnerships and broaden opportunities for its staff and students.
In his remark, the Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Professor Igbekele Ajibefun, who signed the MoU, on behalf of the University, expressed delight at the development which he described as worthwhile, promising to maximize the partnership in the interest of the University.
He said, “For us at Adekunle Ajasin University, It’s a worthwhile collaboration that we are happy about, cherish and treasure, and which we are going to maximize in the best interest of our University.”
The President of Auburn, Dr. Jay Gogue, expressed pleasure over the signing of the MoU with Adekunle Ajasin University, expressing confidence that the partnership would yield good fruits.
Dr. Gogue said, “We are pleased to partner with AAUA, Nigeria, and we are confident too that the partnership will yield good fruits.”
The Ondo State Head of Service, Barrister Toyin Akinkuotu, witnessed the signing.
