50 GOLDEN GARLANDS TO A GLEAMING POLITICAL AMAZON

The birth of great women is always heralded by signs impending what is to come. Consciously, women born of royal blood though might be disadvantaged wearing the crown but what could not be taken off from such enigmatic personage is the glamorous and elegant Paraphernalia of Royalty and Regalia of unstoppable successes.

Erelu Modupe Martins, a graduate of Accounting from Ibadan Polytechnic, Oyo state, B.Sc Public Admin and Master in Public Admin in view; is no doubt a highly motivated and dynamic grassroot mobilizer, an effective manager, bold, confident and a courageous woman. She’s a goal getter and a political amazon whose trajectory predated 1999.

This greatly pristine Princess of Virtue and Glamour was born fifty years ago into the Akindele Royal Dynasty of Idepe/Okitipupa in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State. Born on August 3, 1973 to the family of Mr Claudius Akindele, a disciplined educator and Mrs Modeola Akindele a business woman of great repute in Ondo State.

Our celebrant of today is a successful business tycoon (entrepreneur) with special interest in Petroleum Marketing (Olamotoyin Oil & Gas, Global Samog oil & Gas), Hospitality And Hotel Management, (Abigail international Hotel, Ore) and Agriculture (Small Scale Mill For processing Palm Oil).

The globally celebrated educationist focus on woman emancipation and youth empowerment. She’s has to her unwritten records scores of humanitarian services to the less privileged, land of birth and the city that houses her business interest.

Politically, Erelu Modupe Martins isn’t a pushover as she is not a match among her men contemporary in the game of politics. She rose to her present status in politics through resilience, dedication, commitment, consistency, determination and tenacity of purpose.

Her political leadership experience garnered from being the State Women Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) for four Years; National Coordinator of Progressives Alliance Movement (PAM), South West Coordinator and State Coordinator of Women Change Advocate and Broom initiative for Empowerment and Sustenance- a group initiated and headed by Hon. Tayo Ayinde, the current Lagos State Chief of Staff, National Women leader of APC-PRONENT headed by Ambassador Munir Lawal, Deputy Governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 2016 Ondo State Governorship election and presently, the Chairman of Agbaletu sub-committee (Aged) for the special interest committee in the re-election of Aketi-Aiyedatiwa, Director General, Ondo South Campaign Council (the first woman to take up that responsibility in the progressive since 1999), Deputy Director- Presidential Campaign Committee under the Special Duty 11 Directorate, Convener of a widely accepted sociopolitical groups in Nigeria: Agbaletu / Iyaniwura Organization and Progressives Alliance Movement(PAM).

With the view of eradicating the stigma attached to the womenfolk in our society, Erelu Modupe Martins midwife and birthed into reality an NGO, Oduduwa Women Advocacy Initiative (OWAI), a global platform that speaks for and champion the course of women in Nigeria and West African where Yoruba culture holds sway.

Fifty (50) is golden but life in itself is a priceless ruby that must be well spent for oneself and humanity. Many a humans born of women that had defeated their mandate of existence. Erelu Modupe Martins is still basking in the euphoria of human influence with her steam of affluence.

A dogged fighter, sagacious political icon, a princess imbued with life enhancing streaks, an impactor of lives, a veritable affecter of community and effector of societal change.

Sipping from the gourd of honesty and truth, we can only be kind to humanity by felicitating a most deserved woman of the Crown of Honour. Let’s give a rousing and standing ovation to a woman that have touched lives and still promises to spend more decades to ensure the the land is greener and the people touch the hem of growth and development.
