The Aketi Continuity Mandate Group (ACMG) has put the machinery in place to take its campaign for Governor Akeredolu’s reelection to every nooks and cranny of the state by appointing Coordinators to champion the cause in all the local government areas of the state.
In his address, Convener of the group and Commissioner for Works, Mr. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye said their goal was to ensure that Governor Akeredolu was relected for a second term in office, adding that the coodinators were selected based on their pedigree in politics, loyalty and dedication to the APC.
“The gospel of ACMG is to work hard so that Governor Akeredolu gets a second term in office. Our task has been made easy by candidates performance in office. Our product is good and therefore marketable. He is not a hard sell. Everyone can see the works of Mr. Governor everywhere. You are the ambassadors of the group in your area and interest group.”
He charged the coordinators to work in conjunction with party leaders, members, interest groups as well as others in the hinterland.
“Let me seize this opportunity to make it clear that ACMG is not working alone. We are only complimenting the activities of APC as a whole. When we contribute our quota and other groups do their part along with the party, our product, Governor Akeredolu will be more popular. Before you embark on any venture in your areas, carry along the leaders of the party because the more, the merrier.”
Secretary of the group and Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Alhaji Rasheed Badmus said that it would be an unpardonable error if Governor Akeredolu was not reelected.
“We have to put all hands on deck to make this vision a reality. I do not know any other person, who can be this prudent with our resources. Paucity of fund notwithstanding, he has continued to execute landmark infrastructural development projects. I now know Aketi is God’s choice for the state. Making the state be at par with others in terms of development is the uppermost priority of the Governor. The state APC exco gave us its endorsement before we embarked on this exercise”
In his speech, the Vice Chairman of ACMG and Special Adviser on Commerce and Industry, Honourable Tunji Ifabiyi implored the coordinators to market Governor Akeredolu everywhere and at every opportunity.
“Let the whole world know what Aketi is doing in our state. Tell all and sundry, young and old, male and female that the man is transforming Ondo State. Mention all he is doing in all the sectors of the economy. If you fail to market your product, nobody will do that for you.”
Mr. Ijabiyi however cautioned against deceiving the people about the Governors feats, saying Aketi detest lies.
Professor Olu Aboluwoye advised the coordinators to work very hard for the group, saying nothing good comes easy.
“To achieve anything worthwhile takes efforts and politics is not left out. You are like field soldiers in your local governments. Go to the field and make yourselves feasible. Governor Akeredolu is known for keeping his promises. That is a good starting point for your product. Let your people know that Aketi is a trustworthy leader.”
Also contributing, Chief Alex Ajipe informed that Governor Akeredolu had touched almost every sector in less that three years in office.
“Aketi is doing a lot to leave his footprints on the sand of time. Virtually, he has touched everywhere. Education, health, roads, industrial development, sports etc, his impact is being felt.”
State Chairman of APC, Engineer Ade Adetimehin, who was represented by the Vice Chairman in Ondo Central Senatorial District, performed the symbolic induction, saying that the success of Governor Akeredolu depended on efforts of all members of the party.
The State Secretary of APC, Mr Sina Alayee, who represented the state working committee also made it clear that the working committee would appreciate any group that supports and compliment the efforts of the party and add value to the development of the party in Ondo State.
He charge the convener and the Local Government coordinators to see the party as one.
Chief (Mrs) Funke Adu the iyaloja General of APC is to coordinate all the iyalojas and babalajes, while S.A to Mr Governor on Ibo matters will cordinate the ibos and Oba igbira from Ore will coordinate the ibira with the Hausa coordinator slot zoned to the Northern Senatorial District.
Responding on their behalf, the coordinator for Akoko South West, who is an ex-Council boss and former ALGON chairman in the state, Hon Oloruntogbe thanked the ACMG leaders for counting them worthy for the assignment.
He promised their unalloyed support to the mission.
The State exco and constituency directors of ACMG will soon be put in place

Slogan of ACMG is “let the good works continue”.
