Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Sunday, described the recently retired Head of Service of the state public service, Mr. Oluwatoyin Akinkuotu as a diligent person who was very loyal to the service of the state.
The governor said the former Head of the state’s bureaucrat served the state meritoriouly, adding that he was an exceptional personality.
Governor Akeredolu spoke at a thanksgiving Service in honour of Akinkuotu, held at the St Albert Catholic Church FUTA, Akure.
The Governor, who said Akinkuotu was non- partisan throughout service, commended him for his ability to make a difference, even between the previous government and the present administration.
He said:”We have come to honour a man who has served the state meritoriously. Toyin is a man who was very diligent in his work.
“I met Toyin as Head of Service and because we were not elected to terminate anybody’s appointment, we were only elected to serve. I found in him someone who is loyal. I was convinced I could work with him without any iota of doubt.
“Alot of pressure came from people you don’t expect. Some even said he was too close to the immediate past governor. But, I resisted this pressure and I didn’t regret it
“He has done well. He is one of the most educated person the state could boast of, having bagged two Masters Degrees for himself. Most unassuming and very respectful.”
