As part of efforts to reposition the educational sector of the state, the Ondo State Government through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has organised a training workshop for private schools owners in the state.
Addressing participants at the workshop which kicked off yesterday in Akure for the central senatorial district, the Honourable Commissioner, Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Femi Agagu applauded the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu led administration for his unwavering support in repositioning the educational sector in the state.
Mr. Agagu who observed that Ondo State students have been coming out with outstanding performance in state and national competitions said the theme of the workshop: “Quality Assurance in Private Schools; Whole School Evaluation Strategy” focuses on strategies and principles that will promote effective teaching and learning processes which will be in the interest of the learners.
While acknowledging that private school owners are major stakeholders in lifting the standard of education at all levels, Mr. Agagu assured them that the government is ready to interface more closely with them with a view to strengthen the educational sector.
Participants were drawn from Akure North, Akure South, Ifedore, Ondo West, Ondo East and Bolorunduro.
In his own remark, the state president of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Chief Derick Ijidakinro advised proprietors to be united and to come together to fight their course, saying “united we stand and divided we fall”
He also called on government to aid private schools financially with a view to further enhance quality education in the private schools.

Rev. Asaniyan who further assured that the state government places high premium on quality education urged school owners to compliment governments efforts in achieving it set out goals.
The training will also be done in the northern and southern senatorial districts of the state.
