Ogunsanmi commissions job centre to commemorate World Mental Health Day

The founder of “Carry my Cross” a non governmental organisation on mental health, Barr. Rotimi Ogunsanmi has established a job centre to take care of youths who are searching for job and as well sees to the issue of Counselling those who are passing through some mental challenges that may lead to suicide.
The well furnished ICT centre with modern equipment was located opposite Stella Marris College, Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa local government area of Ondo State.

As usual, “Carry my Cross” has been celebrating World Mental Health day in unique dimensions each year and the 2019 edition with the theme “Preventing Suicide” was not exceptional as the organisation gathered, Civil Servants, Politicians, Traditional Rulers, Youths, Students and others where Keynotes Addresses were delivered by prominent Nigerians among whom are the President of the Nigerian Medical Association, Prince (Dr) Dayo Faduyile and Erelu Modupe Martins the President/Founder Oduduwa Women Advocacy Initiative.

The Guest speakers who took time to define and explained the danger inherent in neglect of mental health by government charged all and sundry to place priority on issues that concerns the health of all.

They lauded the founder of “Carry my Cross” for his unrelenting efforts at ensuring that mental illnesses are reduced to the barest minimum and those living with it are adequately taken care of.

The Speakers therefore solicits support for the organisation in carrying out its define agenda from Above.

The founder of “Carry my Cross” Barr. Ogunsanmi said all the 18 local government area of Ondo State will have the their own job centres in no distant time as he called on government at all levels to ensure adequate care for those living with mental illness.

Other Speakers described the job centre as the first of its kind in Okitipupa local government area and urged the would be users to make judicious use of the centre to better their lots.

Every 10th day of October is a day set aside by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to educate people and create awareness against social stigma and “Carry my Cross” was founded to provide adequate care for the mentally challenged, their children and as well bridge the gaps between the mentally challenged, governments and the hospitals..
