Imo-Based Newspaper Publishers To Honor Governor Akeredolu’s Wife

Imo-based Newspaper publishers, under the aegis of Imo Newspaper Publishers Association (INPA), have concluded arrangements to honor their illustrious daughter, the Imo-born Ondo State First Lady, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu in a colourful event to be held in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

In a release signed by the association’s Chairman, Hon. Henry Ekpe, the Organizing Committee Chairman and Publicity Secretary, Dr George Nkworji and Nwankpa Modestus, respectively, INPA said the proposed merit award is in recognition of the outstanding excellent strides of the first lady, through her initiatives, worthy of mention:

Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria BRECAN -committed to ending breast cancer as a life-threatening disease through Public Education, Advocacy, Patient Support, and Research and

BEMORE Empowered Initiative -committed to making young girls attain their maximum potentials through the promotion of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), Solar Energy, ICT, and Other Life Changing Skills.

According to the release, INPA acknowledged that Mrs Akeredolu has transformed the lives of many young female Nigerians, given hope and saved lives of many Nigerian women.

The release further reveals that the event, which will take place on the 20th of September 2019 at Rockview Hotel, Owerri by 10:00am, would be chaired by Chief Ford Ozumba, a former MD/CEO of Imo Newspapers. Barr. Sam Amadi (Ph.D), a Senior Lecturer at the University of Abuja, would serve as the guest lecturer.

Imo State Governor and his wife, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and Her Excellency, Lady Ebere Ihedioha would be the Chief Hosts of the event while the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Prof. Peter Ebigbo, are expected to be the Special Guests of Honor and Father of the day, respectively according to INPA’s release.
