Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Monday joined other dignitaries across the country to celebrate the pioneer National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun on his 80th birthday.
The Governor rejoiced with Chief Oyegun for the exceptional grace of longevity filled with positive impacts and fulfillments in all ramifications.
In his message of felicitations, entitled, ‘Celebrating an Enigma at 80’, the Ondo State governor recalled that Oyegun distinguished himself as a committed public servant who served the country meritoriously.
Arakunrin Akeredolu who spoke in Benin, the Edo State capital on Monday, 12th August, 2019, said Oyegun, without blemish, disengaged from public service as statutorily required some decades ago to seek election as Edo State governor to enable him to serve his people at a most inauspicious moment, during which he discharged his responsibilities fairly and firmly.
Describing Chief Oyegun as an exceptional leader and a blessing to Nigeria, Governor Akeredolu said he would not forget his courageous stance on the part of truth and justice during the contrived crisis after the successful conduct of the governorship primary of APC in Ondo State.
While praying for more robust health and continuous grace of the Almighty God for Chief Oyegun, Governor Akeredolu stated that Ondo State would continue to celebrate and identify with fairness and decency.
