Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the First Lady of Ondo State has described the Southern governors’ wives forum as a focused group meant for project actualisation.
Arabinrin Akeredolu stated this after a meeting at the Edo state lodge, Abuja, with other first ladies from the southern part of Nigeria.
She said that the members of the group had agreed to take their respective states to next level where their citizens would benefit more from dividends of democracy.
Mrs. Akeredolu said it was agreed at the meeting that wives of governors should think of impacting projects that would serve as legacies for them.
She added that despite the members of the forum were from different political platforms, there was no party colouring attached to the group.
The Ondo State First said that the beauty of the group was that there was evidence of oneness and that women were bounding in unity.
“The forum is a new concept in a political landscape in Nigeria but we had a very good meeting.
” There is evidence of women coming as one, forming a unity not on party line.
“We shared our experiences and challenges and through the process, we learnt and we will keep on learning.
“And we have to challenge our husbands to play down on politics,”she said.
She was optimistic that the forum would grow from strength to strength to achieve its aims.
