Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Agboola Alfred Ajayi sends strong warning to those planning to cause unrest in Odigbo and Ode-Aye communities over the installation of the new Oloja on Agbabu community.
He warns that the government would not fold its arms and watch some unscrupulous people ignite violence between the two peaceful communities.
Ajayi says government decided to intervene following security reports which revealed a brewing communal clash between the traditional rulers of Odigbo, the Orunja of Odigbo, Oba Rufus Olugboyega Akinrinmade and Halu of Ode-Aye, Okitipupa local government, Oba Akinmusayo Akinlade on who should install the Oloja on Agbabu community.
The Deputy Governor advises monarchs to adherent themsevles to a circular letter sent to them by the Ministry of local government and chiefaincy affairs, which says a traditional ruler must officially write and receive approval before installing Olojas or Olus on any community
He notes that such circular letter was necessary in order to forestall issues that may cause crisis in our communities.
Ajayi says in as much the government was not officially inform, those behind that action has fallen foul on the relevant rules, therefore, the installation of Oloja on Agbabu community remains non and void.
The Deputy Governor assures that the state government will soon make his stand known on who is eligible between the two monarchs to install Oloja on Agbabu community.
He, however, enjoins communities in the State to avoid any act that may cause violence in their domain and continue to live in peace and harmony.
