Seven years after the suspension of its partnership with Ondo State Government, the United Nations Development Programme on Wednesday announced the resumption its development partnership with Ondo State Government.
Mrs Khardiata Lo Ndiaye- Resident Representative made the disclosure
during a courtesy visit to Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN on Wednesday at the Governor’s office, Alagbaka, Akure.
Mrs Khardiata Lo Ndiaye who was accompanied by Mr Matthew Alao expressed the readiness of the United Nations Development Programme to reengage very strongly with Ondo State Government in its various development initiatives.
Mrs Khardiata Lo Ndiaye said that she was aware that the governor has a vision with developmental agenda and key objectives set up all of which she said fall within the 2030 Development Agenda of the United Nations Development Programme.
The Governor who spoke earlier said he was happy to welcome the UNDP team back to the State. Governor Akeredolu said it was on record that the United Nations Development Programme had to suspend its operations in the State in 2013 due to one reason or the other.
The Governor further informed the visiting team that the State Government has a -25 year development plan and open for partnership on the key programme of development particularly provision of social amenities to the people at the grassroots.
