BEMORE Girl, Tolu Ehinmosan writes: My Experience At The Political Rally by APC Southwest Governors’ Wives

The rally by the APC Southwest Governors’ Wives was held at the liberty stadium Ibadan Oyo state on January 19th, 2019. This rally held, is the first rally I’ve ever attended, through this rally I’ve been to Ibadan twice, and although I’ve been to a stadium before, it felt good to be in one again. It was exciting and thrilling to see the Vice President’s wife Her Excellency Dolapo Osinbajo, the Governors’ wives of the Southwest states which included our Grandma, Her Excellency Arabirin Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu and some of the Governors of the Southwest states. It was totally awesome to see famous actors and actresses in person. In short words the rally was attended by so many dignitaries.
The Bemore girls were one of the youngest participants if not the youngest participants to attend the rally, which means we had the spotlight. One important thing I noticed was that although the rally was done to gain more votes from people for the APC presidential candidate, His Excellency President Muhamadu Buhari, it also included culture. The Eyo masquerades were present at the rally and they entertained everyone with their dance, other masquerades were also present at the rally to entertain everyone, it was a memorable occasion. The rally has helped to expose me and the other Bemore girls to a political oriented environment.
From a child’s view point, at night the sun seems to be covered by a blanket or maybe put in a box were its light can’t pass through, that’s how all individuals are from the beginning. We are like the sun hidden in a box and the light which cannot pass through are our talents and creativity which are yet to be discovered but when we start growing and learning our light starts shining and when we have people who have passed through the process open up the box for us we then shine brilliantly like the day sun. Our parents are the first to help us open the box and our Grandma, Her Excellency Arabirin Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu has also helped us the Bemore girls to shine brightly and now our lights illuminates everywhere drawing the attention of everyone. Its amazing to be part of such a wonderful organization, the Bemore empowered foundation.
I want to sincerely thank our Grandma Her Excellency Arabirin Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu not just for the opportunities she has given me but the opportunities she has given to the girl child to feel supported, firmly rooted and to feel fully loved. Thank you very much Ma for all you have done for the girl child, Jehovah God will continue to bless your efforts, enrich you and grant you your heart desires. I also want to thank the Bemore Matrons for taking good care of us the Bemore girls and for supporting our Grandma, and to all those who work behind the scenes to support Her Excellency Arabirin Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu, I say a big thank you.
