Women have been urged to actively participate in politics in order to capitalize on the thirty five percent affirmative as promised by the All Progressives Congress APC led administration.
The lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency of Ondo State in the House of Representatives, Hon Bamidele Baderinwa made the passionate appeal while distributing items which include deep freezer, Standard fridges and refrigerators of various sizes to over one hundred women in Ero, Ifedore Local Government Area.
Hon Baderinwa who said such participation would avail women opportunities to advocate for what belong to them in the political stream maintained that the beneficiaries worth compensating based on their role in the 2015 general elections.
“The women put in their best, they were fully on ground and engaged before and during the campaign both days and nights and also ensure our party emerged victorious at the polls”.
“Such efforts deserves to be compensated so that others can emulate them in the future”.
Wife of the lawmaker, who initiated the idea, Mrs Felicia Baderinwa during the distribution commended the women for their patience and commitment to the task placed on them during the electioneering process.
Mrs Baderinwa charged them to do more in the coming general elections noting that the initiative was meant to encourage the women and charged others to do so while not neglecting their roles as wife and mothers at home.
Two of the beneficiaries, Chief Mrs Aro Fagite and Mrs Rachael Amininuola expressed joy on items received and promised to remain committed to the course of the donor which they would show through mobilizing for the victory of the APC in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
The event was attended by party leaders from Idanre and Ifedore local government areas of Ondo State.
