Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Thursday told a visiting team led by the Vice President Academic and Student Affairs: Deputy to the President, Caribbean Maritime University, Professor Ibrahim Ajagunna that Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, presents a unique environment for maritime studies.
Governor Akeredolu while playing host to Carribean Maritime University Team on Thursday in his office pledged to give all it requires to making maritime studies commence in the State owned institution.
Speaking earlier, Professor Ibrahim Ajagunna explained that maritime studies provide better job opportunities and urged Ondo State to embrace it. He shared the view of the Governor that the location and environment of the State University of Science and Technology close to the sea presents an enabling environment for maritime studies.
The Governor therefore charged the Vice Chancellor of OSUTECH, Professor Sunday Ogunduyile to fast track the completion of critical Infrastructure in the University to allow maritime studies take off.
