Wife of Ondo State Governor, Arabirin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has advocated fair distribution of resources for the female gender in order to enable the girl-child overcome challenges and obstacles striving against the development of their potentials, just as she hinted that her Office is coming up with programmes focusing on integrated approach to development in Ondo State, as a boost to Akeredolu’s programmes for the good people of Ondo State.
She stated this today in her office in Akure during a courtesy visit by the management of the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation and Orange FM. Arabirin noted that the people of the State are beginning to key-into the programmes of this administration, even though they have for long lost public interest in governance.
The Wife of the Governor said as a personality with a non-governmental background, she understood the plight of the people and will continue to do more to confront issues affecting them, stressing that despite meeting some challenges, she has continued to advocate for the development of the women folks.
Arabirin observed that education, exposure and enlightenment of the female folks will make the society a better place, adding that her interest is to encourage and ensure gender equality and knowledge based women folk in the society.
Arabirin Akeredolu, in her remark said she is passionate about selfless service to the society and not targeting accolades, but to ensure the feminine gender achieve necessary liberty and education in every aspect of their lives.
The women advocate also informed the staffers that women suffer because of lack of information and awareness, noting that where such exist, it is a great step towards women development and FOWOSO is a platform for educating the women about health issues and associated matters.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Ondo State Radiovision Corporation and Orange Fm, Mr. Kunle Adebayo thanked the Wife of the Governor for implementing various programmes for the benefit of the people, maintaining that the organisation has taken time to validate the activities of Her Excellency across the 18 local government areas of the State and can authoritatively report that they are commendable programmes, which are difficult to override.
He lauded the FOWOSO, Be More, BRECAN and other programmes of the First Lady as they have been able to connect the people of the State.
He said they have exposed the female folks to ICT, technology, Solar Renewable energy and skill acquisition programmes, thus, giving livelihood to the women and the society in general.
The Chairman said the Stations would want to partner more with the Office of Her Excellency, particularly in the celebration of the 2018 World Children’s Day with the theme, “Children’s Take Over” on November 20, with the partnership of UNICEF.
According to him, on the celebration of the Children’s Day, all the officers of the Stations will step down for the children to run activities of the Stations for the day in order to inspire them and make them better for the society.
