Ondo State advisory committee on Mineral Resources and Environmental management control has been inaugurated.
The eight man committee was inaugurated in Alagbaka Akure, by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde.
The state scribe who lauded the Minister of Mines and steel Dr Kayode Fayemi for generating polices to reposition the solid mineral sector enjoined members of the committee to work in tandem with the set objectives for overall development of the state economy.
While enumerating the abundant resources in the state, Hon. Abegunde said the present administration of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu would not relent on its promises to fast track rapid development and investment promotion of the state.
He further said, the creation and rebranding of ministries and Agencies by the state government is a deliberate effort to ensure a sustainable economic growth and to protect the state from all mineral and environmental issues.
Responding, Chairman of the committee who is also the state commissioner for Environment Mr. Funso Esan, appreciated the state government for the opportunity given them to serve promising on behalf of other members to do the work diligently for the benefit of the state government and its citizens.
The eight man committee is saddled mainly with the responsibility to advise the minister on mineral and environmental issues affecting the state and make necessary recommendations.
Members of the committee are: Environment Commissioner, Mr Funso Esan ,Chairman, Mr. Sofoluke Olatokunbo, Secretary and Mr Silas Godwin, member. Others are Mr Abiodun Adara, Mr Olomo Salau, Mr Folahanmi Rotimi, Mr Ogunleye Rotimi and Mr Ajayi Olakunle.
