ONDO HEALTH COMMISSIONER PROMISES TO SUSTAIN EXISTING HEALTH LEGACIES

Familiarising himself with the health sector as well as doing an assessment of assets and liabilities the present administration inherited from the previous administration. The Ondo Health Commissioner, Dr. Wahab Adegbenro is doing a tour of the health sector.

Dr. Adegbenro who started the monitoring from his first day in office has visited the State Specialist Hospital Akure, Mother and Child Hospital Akure, Ondo State Emergency Services Agency Owena station, State Hospital and Medical Village which consist of the Trauma , Kidney Care and Gani Fawehinmi Diagnostic Centres as well as the Mother and Child Hospital Ondo.

The Chief Medical Directors of the hospitals visited took the Commissioner and his team which consisted of the special adviser on health, Dr. Jibayo Adeyeye, the Permanent Secretary, Dr.Taiye Oni and the Management of the Ministry of Health and the Hospitals Management Board round the facilities explaining activities and challenges.

Specifically, the Health Commissioner expressed delight at what he saw in the facilities visited saying it was a nice experience.

He commended Health workers for keeping the flag flying despite various challenges confronting them saying they lived up to their training of saving lives.

Dr Adegbenro pledged the commitment of the government to keep all activities in the health sector going, sustain existing legacies and improve on them.
