Akeredolu condoles Military as families of slain & injured soldiers get cash

The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has commiserated with the Nigerian Army over the recent killing of three of its soldiers in Ajakpa community by militants.

The governor, who spoke during a condolence visit to the Commanding Officer of the 19 Battalion, Okitipupa, described the death of the military personnel as regrettable.

Governor Akeredolu, who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Security, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, said the state government would continue to provide logistics support for the military and other security agencies to carry out their functions of protecting the people, state and country at large.

The Commanding Officer, 19 Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammed Maaji, who was represented by Captain Micheal Ogundele, thanked the governor for sharing in the grief of the Nigerian Army at this difficult time.

He assured the governor of the commitment of the military to the discharge of its duties of protecting the territorial integrity of the country against any form of internal or external aggressions.

To cushion the effects of the present loss and pains, the Ondo State Government gave Five Hundred Thousand Naira each to the two soldiers who were fell by the bullets of the militants and Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira to the soldier that sustained bullet wounds in the unfortunate shootout with militants.
