The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, says he will build on the salutary efforts of his predecessor in the health sector to make health care delivery accessible to citizens of the state.
The governor who made the promise while playing host to the Management Team of the Society for Family Health, SFH,in his office in Akure said he would ensure that health care delivery is within the reach of the people of Ondo State.
Describing healthy lifestyle as wealthy living, the governor regretted the menacing nature of malaria parasites which had led to the death of many people and pledged never to toy with the health of the people of the state.
Arakunrin Akeredolu who lauded Society for Family Health for its proposal to assist in managing the state’s Primary Health Centres across the state, expressed happiness at the desire of the organization to donate mosquitoes treated nets and malaria testing kits to public health institutions in the state.
Earlier, the Managing Director of Society for Family Health, Sir Bright Ekweremadu had said that the health society would donate one million malaria test kits to government health facilities in the state with assurance that the dream of eradicating malaria parasites was achievable but needed effective collaborations of both public and private health operators.
Sir Ekweremadu used the opportunity of the visit to propose to the State Government the management of Primary Health Centres throughout the state.
