Eid-el- Fitr: Mimiko Calls For Courage To Solve Nation’s Problems

Ondo state Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko  has appealed to Muslims in the country to maintain the tempo of their  supplications to God during the Ramadan period, stressing that  the country still remain in  dare need of prayers  more than ever before to surmount her numerous  challenges.

He said  the solutions to the  challenges confronting the nation are readily available “and are there for us to apply  only if we can take up the courage to do the needful ”

Mimiko added  that  Nigeria was not “created to be a problem to herself and  neighbours,  but loaded with the potentials of a global model and solution provider”

In his Eid-el-Fitr message issued by the State’s Commissioner for Information, Mr Kayode Akinmade in Akure on Monday, Governor Mimiko called on Muslims in the nation to also sustain the lessons of  Rammadan by allowing the God-like characters they lived all through the period  to become a way of life for them.

He said love, tolerance and peace are Islamic virtues that  true Muslims should not compromise, positing that making these permanent habits will go a long way in making the country a better one for all to cohabit.

Insisting that the restructuring of the country is the immediate solution to whatever problem the country may be facing at the moment, the Governor stressed that God deliberately allowed the 2014 National Conference” to be a success  so that our case will not be like that of the Children of Israel that  wondered in the wilderness 40 years  in a journey that should have taken a few days”

According to Mimiko, the time is now to use the instrumentality of government to wipe off the tears on the faces of the people , adding that recent developments in the country dictate that decisions of government at this critical time should be the one taken in the overall interest of the people.

Full of appreciation  for the peoples support for his government since assuming power, Mimiko  said  this  has encouraged government to be more determined in the resolve to ensure that people of  the state continue to enjoy dividends of democracy, the sacrifices of government to continue to make this happen notwithstanding.

The Governor wished Muslims all over a hitch free  celebration as they mark the end of the Ramadan fast.
