The Blacksmith, Panelbeater/Spraypainters and Welders Association of Nigeria (BPWAN), Ondo State Chapter has added its voice to the growing call on its Patron Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) to join the 2016 Governorship race as the search for a worthy successor to the incubent, Gov. Olusegun Mimiko hots up.
BPWAN made the call at a meeting of its State Executive, Local Government Officers and the Board of Trustees held in Akure on Thursday 26th May, 2016.
BPWAN through its State Chairman, Apostle Emmanuel Ogunmodede, said, “Eyitayo has convinced us beyond any reasonable doubt about his God given nature to galvanise the creative ability of the people of Ondo State at this trying period of our National life to bring out the best in our people and make the State a shinning light Socially and Economically in the comity of States.”
He said “God loves Eyitayo because he loves and cares for the people, his humility and simplicity have endeared him to many, his accessibility and philanthropic gestures point to the fact that he’s God sent. Eyitayo is not God, but when he makes any promise he does everything humanly possible to keep his word. He has been tested with little and he didn’t fail, I am sure if given a higher responsibility, he will even do better”.
Apostle Ogunmodede therefore enjoined all persons seeking the progress of Ondo State to support him with their prayers.
In his contribution, the State Vice Chairman from Owo Local Government Area Mr. Akinola Elejibola said “Eyitayo is very accommodating and since his name has continued to feature in political discussions across all political divides with regards to the governorship race, I have taken more than a passing interest”. He however appealed to Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) to please carry BPWAN along if and when he eventually decides so that the association can show its profound appreciation by working for his victory.
In his response, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) thanked BPWAN and everyone that spoke for the kind words, he said “though you invited me here today in my capacity as the Patron of BPWAN it is also in that capacity that I will speak and to that extent I say thank you for keeping the peace and for contributing your quota to the development of our State”.
Speaking further, he said the purpose of government is to make life comfortable for the people and that whatever good the present administration under Gov. Olusegun Mimiko has started must be sustained. He then prayed for a good man after God’s heart to succeed the incubent.
On the call by BPWAN to join the 2016 Governorship race, Eyitayo said “looking at your faces, i see the genuineness in your call, just as I hear the sincerity in your voices, but on the issue I am at peace with God and i’m sure at God’s own time the best will happen”.
In his closing remark, the BoT Chairman, Elder D.D. Oke thanked Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) for coming and prayed for God’s wisdom as he makes certain decisions in the days and weeks to come.
