Today 17/5/16 will remain a memorable day in the political history of Irele Local Government as all the political ‘timbers and calibre ‘of the local government have settled the disagreement between them amicably.
Senator Yele Omogunwa gave glory to the all almighty God for giving them and others the wisdom to settle the rifts for the betterment of Irele Local government in particular, and Ondo State in general. He also thanked HisExcellency, governor Olusegun Mimiko for his leadership role and his unalloyed commitment in ensuring that the differences are settled amicably.
The highly elated Hon. Remi Olatubora, posted on the Social Media that, ” Unity meeting in my Irele home town under the leadership of the Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Pastor Yele Omogunwa. Thank you Lord. We also use this opportunity to thank Mr Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko and other state leaders of our party for this great achievement. ”
Hon. Afolabi Iwalewa had this to say, ” The storm is over, there is 100% for PDP in Irele local government now and forever with today’s development. Thanks to distinguish senator, Hon Olatubora and all the stake holder in our great party in Irele local government. I also thank our amiable governor of the state.
Hon. Albert Akintoye (SOT), Olatunji (Tunji and Tunji) and all other leaders whose names are too numerous to mention, were also happy and they all gave God the glory. They equally thanked governor olusegun Mimiko.
Irele Local has been one of the strongest local governments for Labour Party during the reign of the party in Ondo state, and when the governor alongside the entire team of LP joined the PDP the PDP became the ‘owner’ of Irele Local Government. But while the crisis was on, the major opposition party in the state-APC was lurking around like vulture who wanted to make a feast of a dead body. They were well positioned to win the aggrieved to their side.
However, with this latest development, it seems the opposition will wait in vain in their attempt to capitalize on that hitherto division to harvest the members of the PDP in the local government to its fold.
