The ancient town of Oruko Urue-Offong, in Oruko Local Government area of Akwa Ibom state, was on Friday13th, May 2016, agog following the influx of personalities from all walks of life that present during the burial ceremony of late Okon Okowong Bassey, father inlaw of the People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Ondo State Mr. Eyitayo Jegede, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
Apart from the personalties that present at the ceremony the ancient town also turned to tourist attraction as it witnessed unusual coloufull and well attended ceremony.
The funeral ceremony of the father inlaw of the Anthony General and Commissioner for Justice, was held amidst encomium at the football field of Methodist Primary School, Oruko, the late Okon Bassey, aged 89, died recently after a brief illness.
The powerful delegation from the Ondo state chapter of PDP was led by the state commissioners and others were friends, government functionaries as well as officials from the ministry of Justice in the state.
