Osustech VC counsels matriculants to be proactive.

Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) Okitipupa has matriculated 516 new intakes, marking its 6th Matriculation ceremony since its inception. The colourful ceremony held on Thursday, the 10th of March in the University auditorium at the main campus along Igbokoda road.

In his address at the matriculation ceremony, the vice chancellor, Prof. Adegoke Adegbite congratulated the matriculation ceremony was essential, not only because it marked the formalization of the admission of students into the University, but also because it was the occasion during which matriculates pledge their allegiance to the University authority.

“Today, as you officially embark on a 5-year educational career, I implore you to remain focused and proactive in your academic pursuit. There are several tremendous opportunities that will define your university experience and set you on the path of professional and personal development,” said the vice chancellor.

He advised the matriculants to manage discreetly their new found liberty and independence, stressing that they are now assumed to be adults no matter how young they were when they gained admission.

The newly admitted students signed the matriculation Register before the Ag. Vice – Chancellor. Earlier, the coordinator registry had led the students in administering the matriculation Oath in unison.

While speaking with OndoEvents the fresh undergraduates, Samuel Sowemino of the Department of Industrial Chemistry and Dolapo Adigun of the Department of Computer Science expressed their Joy at being matriculated in the University of their Choice. Samuel Sowemimo noted that he hoped to graduate with First Class from the University, while Dolapo said she will put in all her best to satisfy her objective of doing well in the Ivory tower.
